Introduction February 26, 2014 – In Irving Texas, the 7 Natural Wonders of North America were officially declared by experts from around the world, including: conservationists, professors, and nature/wildlife associations. The following presentation will introduce you to these newly established Seven Natural Wonders of North America with interesting information and quick facts about each newly declared Wonder!

Wonder #1 Quick Facts! • Located in Wyoming, USA • Eco-diversity of wildlife; fauna & Flora • 1st National Park in the world – established in 1872 • Unique geographical landscape - Park size: 3,468 square miles (8,983 km) • Home of the largest super volcano in North America size – 34 x 45 Miles (955 x 72 km) Attractions: • Old Faithful • Bison, Wolves, Grizzly & Black Bears, etc.

Wonder #2 Quick Facts! • Located across Ontario, Canada & New York, USA • Comprised of: Horseshoe Falls, American Falls, & Bridal Veil Falls • 6 million cubic feet of water / 1 minute of flow at high flow • Average: 4 million cubic ft. / 1 minute Attractions: • Horseshoe Falls: 2,600 ft. wide Highest drop at 172 ft. Accounts for approx. 90% of water volume • American Falls: 1,060 ft. wide

(600-4,000 km) • Home of the largest granite monolith (approx. 3,000 ft.) Attractions: • Highest peak: Mt. Lyell • Most notable feature: Half Dome (4,737 ft. above valley floor. Peak at 8,842 ft.

Wonder #4 Quick Facts! • Located in Nova Scotia, Canada • represents the largest tidal change in a single day • Comes from a French word “Fendu” meaning “split” • 8 kinds of whales can be seen in and off the bay, including the rare Northern Right Whale. Attractions: • 115 billion tons of water flow in & out daily. • Typical tidal range: 55 feet • 2 tidal high & lows per day • Whale watching and hiking.

Wonder #5 Quick Facts! • Located in Alaska, USA, in Denali National Park • Has a greater vertical rise than Mount Everest (Asia) • Base to peak: 2,000 ft. to 20,237 – almost 18,000 ft. vertical rise. • Named after President William McKinley • Tallest Mountain in North America Attractions: • Has the greatest vertical rise from sea level to base to peak • Peak: 20,237 ft. (6,168 km)

Wonder #6 Quick Facts! • Located in California, USA • The tallest tree is 379 ft. tall • The largest tree is 52, 000 cubic feet (approx.) • Situated between Redwood National Park & Sequoia National Park – collectively the largest trees in the world. Attractions: • Largest tree known as “General Sherman” • Covers approx. 131,983 acres • 37 miles of Pacific coastline • Home to a number of endangered species
