  2. Monday, October 11, 2010 • Objective: SWU concepts of energy. • Focus: How does energy affect your every day living? List five types of energy you use every day. • Discuss energy. • Why does the water look different in one of the aquariums? • What is different? What is the same? • Activity: measure out fertilizer for the pond systems. (first period) • Cut off tops of biomes !!! • Video for energy.

Tuesday, October 12 • STUDENTS WILL WORK ON ENERGY POSTERS DURING CLASS. • DIVIDE STUDENTS INTO GROUPS REPRESENTING THE FIVE TYPES OF ENERGY. • EACH STUDENT DRAWS A CARD WHEN THEY ENTER THE ROOM. THIS DETERMINES WHICH GROUP THEY WILL WORK WITH. • THE GROUPS OF STUDENTS RESEARCH THEIR TYPE OF ENERGY AND ASSIGN EACH GROUP MEMBER A JOB FOR THE POSTER. THE POSTERS WILL BE PRESENTED DURING CLASS TOMORROW. • COMPLETE THE SET UP FOR MOLE DAY. • BIOMES IN A BAGGIE.

  4. Tuesday, October 13 • COMPLETE POSTERS ON ENERGY THE FIRST PART OF CLASS. • PRESENT ENERGY POSTERS AND EXPLAIN THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF ENERGY TO THE OTHER CLASS MEMBERS. • DISCUSSION TIME. • STUDENTS RESPONSIBLE FOR TEACHING THE TYPES OF ENERGY.

  5. Thursday, October 14 • MOLE DAY • ALL STUDENTS WILL PARTICIPATE WITH MOLE DAY.

  6. Friday, October 15 • BE SURE ALL MOLE DAY PAPERS ARE TURNED IN. • REMIND STUDENTS ABOUT FIELD TRIP PERMISSION SLIPS. • EXAM ON TYPES OF ENERGY
