Toroids and Faraday Cups • Toroids and faraday cups used to establish absolute charge values • LCLS-I does not heavily use toroids for beam physics and they are not well calibrated • Would be nice to fix this • Toroids also used for BCS and MPS functions • Maintain BCS function. • ?MPS function could be implemented with BPMs? • LCLS-I Faraday cup design inadequate for absolute charge measurements

  5. Absolute Charge Calibration • New Faraday cups • 6 MeV: more than 99% charge capture versus less than ~80% for LCLS-I design • 135 MeV: more than 98% charge capture • Externally calibrated toroid– perhaps inserted into BC1
