  3. Adverbs • Definition: An adverb is a word that is used to describe a verb, telling where, how, or when. • Types: • Manner • Direction • Time • Frequency • Degree • Conjunctive (transition words)

Now your turn to practice! • The thief walked ________________ (manner) • The starving boy ate _____________ (manner) • _____________(time) we will meet at lunch. • _____________(frequency) I will walk home from school. • Make a list of 4 verbs and add possible types of adverbs. (ex: speak very quietly, speak louder, walk away, walk daily)
