Bradbury School PTA • Objectives • Foster and promote close cooperation and contact between parents and teachers • To provide a transport service to take students to and from the school, daily • To provide, staff and manage the school shop to supply uniforms, stationery and accessories for students • To conduct activities to raise funds and receive donations that can be used for the benefit of Bradbury students • To provide opportunities for PTA members to meet informally • To provide manpower assistance to the school for the benefit of the students

  3. Bradbury School PTA The Association does not attempt to interfere with the functions of the Principal in the management of the school

Bradbury School PTA • Structure • Committee elected annually at the PTA AGM (held in the autumn term) • 4 teacher members (includes the school principal) • 12 parent members • Invitations to stand for election to the committee will be issued in September - Employs full time PTA administrator (Ms Lin Gong).

Bradbury School PTA • Under the ESF Ordinance all parents are automatically members of their child/children’s school PTA • Bradbury PTA membership fee $400 • Goes towards the administration of the PTA • Includes a copy of the Student Directory and Calendar • Membership fee included in bus fees for bus users. • Non-users of the bus need to complete form to apply separately for membership

Bradbury School PTA • School Buses • 15 routes to most catchment areas for the school • 620 users (85% of the student body) • Routes and stops can change, depending on student numbers • Route 14 to Hong Kong Ferry Pier 3 • Route 15 non-stop to Discovery Bay • Experienced bus mothers on board to ensure student safety. • “Bus buddy” for new Y1 students • Modern bus fleet, with low-carbon emission buses

  7. Bradbury School PTA • School Uniform Shop • The PTA Shop on lower ground floor of the school • Coordinates manufacture and sale of school uniforms • Also sells stationery and accessories for students • Opening hours: 8.30am to 1.30pm • Days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday (during school terms)

  8. Bradbury School PTA • Social and fundraising activities include: • Christmas Fair • Easter Fun Day • Wine Tasting Evening • Pizza Sales • Cake Sales

Bradbury School PTA • Donations and Spending • Over $1.43m donated to the school in the 2009/10 school year including: • $1.32m for new playground equipment and flooring • $55k to the Learning Centre for books and equipment • $30k for Year 6 Graduation Day Party • $15k subsidy for LSC children attending School Camps • $15k to school year groups for games/toys for rainy day playtimes

Bradbury School PTA • We need your help and support • The PTA welcomes new parents to stand for election to the Committee • We always need volunteers to help with fund-raising activities, e.g. pizza and cake sales • Join in the fun at social activities such as the annual fair • Look out for requests for help in the school newsletters and via class parents
