  3. 2010 – 2011Rotary Club of Alamo Important Accomplishments Established the RotaCare Pittsburg Free Medical Clinic at St. Vincent de Paul • Collaborative effort developed by SVdP and the Rotary Club of Alamo • Sponsored by Alamo and Pittsburg Rotary Clubs • Co-sponsored by nine additional Rotary Clubs • Raised $15,700 for pharmaceutical and medical supplies, requesting District Matching funds for a total of $31,400 • Clinic has seen over 300 uninsured adult patients with acute and chronic conditions since opening on February 9th • 135 patients were men and 165 were women • Common diagnoses are diabetes, hypertension, allergies, muscle spasms, UTI, asthma, sore throats and bronchitis • Open weekly on Wednesday’s from 4 – 7 p.m. Appointments from 1 – 3 p.m.

  4. 2010 – 2011Rotary Club of AlamoImportant Accomplishments Sponsored a Global Grant (MG 25127) totaling $92,500 • Rotary Club of Salem South, District 2980 (India), Rotary Clubs of Danville/ Sycamore and Delta Antioch • Provide basic infrastructural and hygenic facilities; basic technological equipment, including laboratory equipment, computers, books, desks, benches, etc. in various schools in District 2980 including “Swami’s Village School” • Benefits over 5,000 students ages 5-17 in primary, secondary and high schools

  5. 2010 – 2011Rotary Club of AlamoImportant Accomplishments I-680/Stone Valley Interchange Beautification Project • Spearheaded by Alamo Rotary • Community-wide project • Worked with volunteer John Montgomery, landscape architect to develop plan • Received $35,000 from Alamo Mac • Clean up and enhancements needed • Temporarily on hold pending completion of 680 repaving project

  6. 2010 – 2011Rotary Club of AlamoClubs Providing Noteworthy Support To Alamo Rotary • Rotary Club of Pittsburg in the development of the RotaCare Pittsburg Free Medical Clinic at St. Vincent de Paul • Rotary Clubs of Antioch, Brentwood, Danville, Danville Sycamore, Delta Antioch, Dougherty Valley, San Ramon and San Ramon for teaming with Alamo and Pittsburg to co-sponsor the RotaCare Pittsburg Free Medical Clinic • Rotary Club of Salem South (India) and District 2980 (India), Rotary Clubs of Danville Sycamore and Delta Antioch in the co-sponsorship of Global Grant #25127 • Rotary Club of San Pablo in supporting the Contra Costa Deputies Association for Better Community Relations back to school back pack program which supported a low income elementary school in unincorporated San Pablo

  7. 2010 – 2011Rotary Club of AlamoMulti-club or Multi-district Collaborative Activity • RotaCare Pittsburg Free Medical Clinic (11 Clubs) • India Global Grant Project with Rotary Club of Salem South and District 2980 • Bangladesh Water project with Rotary Club of Khulna, District 3280, Rotary Club of Ukiah and District 5130 • East Bay Regional Parks Tracks to Trails event with Rotary Clubs of Danville, Danville Sycamore, Dougherty Valley, San Ramon and San Ramon Valley • Fourth of July Parade Float with Rotary Clubs of Danville, Danville Sycamore, Dougherty Valley, San Ramon and San Ramon Valley, as well as local InterAct Clubs • May 13 Golf Tournament with the Rotary Club of Pittsburg to benefit RotaCare Pittsburg Free Medical Clinic • Participated in the development of the 680 Corridor six Club website www.rotaryinthevalley.org and District 5160 Public Relations committee

  8. 2010 – 2011Rotary Club of AlamoCommunity Service Projects • RotaCare Pittsburg Free Medical Clinic • Food bank drives—Collected over 2,000 pounds of food with Monte Vista Interact members • 680/Stone Valley Interchange Beautification project--$35,000 donated by Alamo MAC • Support of the Discovery Center with donations of clothing • Meals on Wheels • One Warm Coat drive with the San Ramon Valley Rotary and Monte Vista InterAct • Eagle Scout project • Alamo Bus benches on Danville Blvd • Annual Easter Egg Hunt for over 400 kids ages 1-12, stuffed and hide 2,500 plastic eggs • Rotarians at Work Day on April 23rd with four members participating • Fourth of July float with 680 Clubs • Staffed Trails to Tracks project with East Bay Regional Parks and 680 Corridor Rotary Clubs • Sponsored Annual Alamo Music Festival • Sponsored and Honored Alamo Rotary Citizen of the Year during the Annual Alamo Rotary Music

  9. 2010 – 2011Rotary Club of AlamoInternational Service Projects • District 2980, the Rotary Clubs of Salem (India), Danville Sycamore and Delta Antioch to support basic education, literacy, and hygienic facilities in India, resulting in a $92,500 Global Grant • District 3280 to provide 16 deep tube water wells in remote sites of Khulna, Bangladesh • Providing financial support to District 4130 and the Rotary Club of Danville Sycamore to provide equipment to Monterrey Mexico Nursing Homes • Provided financial support to the Rotary Club of Danville Sycamore and the Rotary Club of Narok-Masai Mara and District 9200 for the Nchaishi Primary School ,water well and sanitation project • Supporting the InterAct HydrAid project with the District 5160 InterAct Council • Donated to both the Haiti and Japan Disaster Relief Funds • Provided 186 Dictionaries for the District 5160 Zambia Dictionary project • Sponsored a Peace Fellow from Australia

  10. 2010 – 2011Rotary Club of AlamoNew Generations Projects • Sponsor Monte Vista High School InterAct with over 100 members • Annual third grade dictionaries program (138 dictionaries in 2010-11) • Support music programs in six local schools by sponsoring the Alamo Music and Wine Festival--increased financial support of the music programs in 2010-2011 by 50% • Sponsor the Educator and Student of the year awards program for six local schools • Sponsor both inbound and out bound exchange students • Sent three students to Camp Royal • Donated funds to three schools libraries for purchase of library books • Donate books to Stone Valley Middle School in the name of each weekly Club lunch speaker • Sponsored a Peace Fellow from Australia • Provided chaperons for the InterAct District retreat in Marin County • Back to school back pack program with the Rotary Club of San Pablo and the CCC Deputies for Better Community Relations
