  1. White Balance, Flash & Program Modes VP is great & Wad is ok.

  2. White Balance • Lets you compensate for the color of the light you are working with

  3. On your Camera • Look for AWB or white balance… it’ll be in a menu or function. • You should be able to change this!

  5. Incandescent • Lights in your house • Have a yellow/red hue

  6. Fluorescent • Lights in the school, stores, … you know those tube lights!

  7. Daylight • For outdoor shooting on normal, sunny days

  8. Cloudy Day • For outdoors on cloudy days

  9. Flash • Built for 3 to 15 ft. usage only • So, don’t get too close or your subject will be washed out • And, don’t assume it will reach dark, distant objects

  11. Flash Modes • AUTO – Camera Decides if you need a flash

  12. Flash Modes • Red Eye– Camera gives a few short bursts to close your pupils before the real flash

  13. Flash Modes • Flash On – Flash will fire no matter what – use to fill shadows

  14. Flash Modes • No Flash – flash will not fire

  15. Program Modes • Lets your camera know what you are trying to take pictures of so it can make shutter/ aperture/ ISO/ white balance adjustments for you
