Retroreflectivity • New Federal Highway Administration Minimum Sign Retroreflectivity Regulations • Revision 2 of the 2003 Edition of the federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) • To address this disparity, the FHWA has adopted new traffic sign retroreflectivity requirements • - By January 22, 2012, an assessment or management method MUST be in place. • - By January 22, 2015, all regulatory, warning, and ground mounted guide (except street name) signs failing to meet the minimum levels must be replaced • - By January 22, 2018, all street name and overhead guide signs failing to meet the minimum levels must be replaced • Is anyone working on this project
GIS Training at ARC • ARC is now teaching the new ArcGIS v10 Certified Curriculum • Three class series, will offer it 2-3 times per year depending on demand – next classes offered in late summer/early fall, TBD • Desktop I: Getting Started with GIS • Desktop II: Tools and Functionality • Desktop III: GIS Workflows and Analysis • Registration is handled through ARC’s Community Planning Academy • Available to local government staff only, Class size limited to 12 • Check atlantaregional.com/cpa page of ARC’s website for upcoming classes and online registration, check ESRI website for course details • Please contact Paul DiGirolamo at 404-463-3520 or pdigirolamo@atlantaregional.comfor more information or to be added to the Community Planning Academy mailing list for upcoming training
