  2. Claim There are enough precautions to prevent disease that minors should be allowed to get tattoos with the permission of a legal guardian.

  3. Opposition The main argument against its legalization is that it would be more tragic if a minor got a disease as opposed to an adult

  4. Common Ground Anyone can get a disease from dirty needles and transferred blood and contaminated ink

  5. Precautions There are plenty of precautions to prevent these diseases from occurring Must have cleaning supplies and sterilization materials. There are reusable needles and throw away needles. Must have a contaminated waste basket for used needles and ink. Must have smooth surfaces everywhere for a safer environment. Ink is put into cups so the fresh ink isn’t mixed with contaminated ink

Facts There are only 12 states that do not allow minors to get tattoos For a minor to get a tattoo he or she must have written consent and his parents and/or legal guardians must be present during the entire Procedure Teens that want tattoos are more likely to go to artists “behind closed doors” if they aren’t allowed to legally get them done which has a risk that is 10x higher because they do not have the right equipment Can’t legally get that equipment

  7. Conclusion Minors should be allowed to get tattoos if they have the written consent and parental supervision because when it comes down to it, the legalization would lower the risk of minors getting those potential dangerous diseases
