History/Background Information • Taco Bell was first created in 1954 by Glen Bell selling tacos out of a cart. • Its 100th restaurant was opened in 1967. • Taco Bell sold 868 restaurants to Pepsico. in 1978. • 1989 Taco Bell started to use major movie productions to advertise (such as Batman) in 1989 • Taco Bell currently has about 93 permanent items on their menu.

Some Statistics • Average customer’s visiting frequency: every 11 days • Burritos served per year: 1 billion • Tacos served per year: 2 billion • Restaurants: 5,600, nationwide • Employees: 150,000 team members • Amount of raw materials consumed each year: 3.8 billion corn taco shells/flour tortillas, 105 million pounds of fresh lettuce, 47 million pounds of pinto beans, 288 million pounds of Seasoned Ground Beef and 111 million pounds of cheese.

  6. What these graphs show • Corporation prosperity. • Taco Bell grows more successful as time goes on. • Customer satisfaction grows as time progresses. • Taco Bell is investing more time in quality.

Why is it important? • As an investor, I would want to be shown that Taco Bell is reliable. • These graphs show that Taco Bell is spending less time with quantity (store locations) and spending more time with quality (customer satisfaction. • This will encourage the investments from many investors which allow Taco Bell to continue growing.

  9. What This means • Taco Bell is indeed up with the “big boys” being that they are able to place on the top ten biggest fast food chains in the U.S. • Taco Bell still has a ways to catch up the other chains. • Taco Bell is a competing fast food chain in the U.S.

What this means • All products looked at contain at least 12 grams of protein. • Most low-protein items contain other protein-rich items (like beans). • Beef contains 6.6 grams of protein per ounce. The amount of beef served in a standard burrito matches the amount of protein. • The beef in Taco Bell products is beef.
