  1. Beaumont High School 9th Grade 2014-15 Pre-Registration

  2. Graduation Requirements • 4 yrs of English • 3 yrs of Math (min. Algebra 1) • 2 yrs of Science • 3 yrs of History • 2 yrs P.E. (must pass Physical Fitness Test to avoid taking additional PE courses). • 1 yr of Fine Arts OR 1yr of a World Language • CTE (1 semester) • Health (1 semester) • 60 credits of electives • Pass the CAHSEE Total of 220 credits

  3. UC & CSU Admissions (A-G) Requirements A. 2 years of History B. 4 years of English C. 3 years of Math (4 rec.) Alg. I, Geometry, Alg. II D. 2 years of Lab Science (3 rec.) Biology, Chemistry or Physics E. 2 years of World Language (3 rec.) F. 1 year of Fine Art G. College Prep Elective (may use excess years in A-F courses) • SAT or ACT Junior/Senior year. • Grades of C’s or better are required for all A-G courses.

  4. Pre-Registration Packet • Tentative course recommendations have been personalized for you based on your academic standing. • Due date: 3/6/14 with all appropriate signatures. • Current transcript is attached. • Summer school application attached if needed.

  5. Summer School • Dates & times are to be announced. • Must repair course(s) where an F was earned. • Recommended to repair a D in core classes. • Return signed and completed forms with course request (3/6/14).

  6. Course Selection • Talk to your teachers about your placement for next year (i.e. Math level, AP/Non-AP, etc.). • AP Courses have summer work. • Courses requiring approval must have the appropriate teacher/coach in order to be enrolled in that course (i.e. ASB, Publications, and Athletic PE).

  7. Course Selection Continued • New Program/Course: Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp (AFJROTC). • Non-Core course offerings are based on interest. • Look at our Cougar Class Book on our BHS website for course descriptions, expectations, and pre-requisites.

  8. Remind 101 • Remind101 is a one-way text messaging and email system. • With Remind101, all personal information remains completely confidential. Teachers/Staff will never see your phone number, nor will you ever see theirs. • See hand out for instructions on signing up.

  9. Questions & Answers • Counselors will be available in the Career Center (P-6) next week during lunch to answer any questions. - Monday (3/3): 1st & 2nd lunch - Tuesday (3/4): 1st lunch only - Wednesday (3/5): 1st lunch only * Write down all your questions in the meantime.
