  5. BT Rollout Key contract terms 90% access to min 25Mbps (Phase 1) 100% access to min 2Mbps Completion by end 2014 Mostly FTTC Some FTTP

  6. BT Rollout Headlines 180+ of 690 cabinets completed 50,000+ of 149,000 total premises now able to access superfast speeds (25+Mbps)

  8. Demand stimulation Targeted activity, eg Skipton Nationally, superfast broadband take-up is 16% after 2 years SFNY are already getting 8% after 200 days Our local target is to exceed 20%

  12. How to address the 10% 40,000+ premises (unevenly spread) Options More fibre by BT (Phase 2, 90-95%?) Community wireless/satellite (Phase 3, 96-99%) Satellite = residual 1%

  13. Community Broadband Continuing to support existing schemes (eg Kettlewell) First scheme competition close to release and will further inform 10% strategy Help deliver 96% to 99% coverage

  14. Lessons learnt to date State aid/procurement is complex BT approach works, but has issues laws of physics quality of pre-existing (voice) networks split communities/business parks
