Randomized Algorithms
This document presents an in-depth analysis of randomized algorithms, focusing on two primary types: Las Vegas and Monte Carlo algorithms. Las Vegas algorithms guarantee a correct result, although their expected runtime is favorable even if specific cases may exhibit higher times. The Monte Carlo type allows for a certain probability of error, offering good worst-case runtime performance. Examples discussed include the randomized version of Quicksort and a randomized primality test, demonstrating the principles and applications of these algorithms in computer science.
