  2. Overview - The lesson plan is created to improve students’ skills of collecting information, making presentation in English language. Students work in group actively to search and gather information and share information with others - Level: grade 10th students

  3. Objectives Students will be able to: • Understand and remember the traditions and customs of Tet holiday • Research the information about Tet on the web • Express the feelings about Tet

  4. Introduction Teacher begins the lesson by giving some questions for students • Do you like Tet holiday? • When does it take place? How long? • What do you often do in Tet? • List some traditional food and games in Tet

  5. Tasks The following types of tasks will be used in this project: • Research: Students will be studying about information about Tet holiday from website • Telling: Students will be telling in front of the class what they found about Tet • Journalistic: Students will reflect and write about the feelings about Tet • Design: Students will design an informative and attractive presentation and plan about Tet

  6. Process • Students will work in a small group (three or four people) • Each group will learn about a specific aspect of Tet holiday on the website • Each group will report their information in the class • After the presentation, each student will write a reflection about their feeling about Tet

  7. Group 1 Process You will be researching the history , the custom and the new year of Tet holiday. Here are some questions to discuss: • What is Tet holiday? • When does it take place? • How do Vietnamese often prepare for Tet? • How many periods can three Vietnamese regions be divided into? • What does children receive in the first day of Tet?

  9. Group 2 Process You will be researching the traditional celebrations and decorations of Tet holiday. Here are some questions to discuss: • What is Mua Lan or Lion Dancing? • After the parade, what do families and friends often do? • At Tet, What do Vietnamese hung up on the wall?

  13. Evaluation You will present your information in an informative and attractive way. Presentation (40%): Your grade will graded according to a rubric Reflection (60%): You can write a reflect the feeling about what you learnt in this lesson. You can use Google Drive or Blogger to upload your writing.

  14. Conclusion After presentation, each student need to write a reflection about Tet holiday Your reflection can answer the following questions: • What did you like best about the presentation? • What did you learn from Tet holiday? • What are your feelings about Tet? Students will upload their writing on Blogger or Google Drive, others can read and give comments.
