Moving forward in the region • Ensure that disaster risk reduction (DRR) is a national and local priority with a strong institutional basis for implementation. • Legal frameworks should enable resource allocation for the development and implementation of disaster risk reduction policies. • Ratifying relevant international legal instruments and principles, taking steps for their implementation. • Promoting community participation through specific provisions and measures in access to information laws or other instruments
