INTRODUCTION • Infrastructure in the UAE is extremely well developed. • Nevertheless, to ensure accelerated growth, infrastructure continues to receive a major injection of capital. • This is spearheaded by UAE Vision 2021 National Agenda, which aims for the UAE to be among the best in the world in terms of quality of infrastructure in time for the jubilee celebrations for the founding of the state. • Under the guidance of the UAE's Green Growth Strategy, the challenge is to ensure that this development takes place in a sustainable manner. • From a federal perspective, the UAE plans to spend Dh6 billion (US$1.63 billion) on major infrastructure developments across the country, including road networks and federal buildings.

GALFAR CONSTRUCTION • Galfar Engineering and Contracting SAOG is founded by Dr P Mohamed Ali. • Galfar Engineering is known as one of the largest Engineering, Contracting and Construction company in the Sultanate of Oman. • An article in Economic times, claims it to be one of the top Five Engineering Contractors across the Gulf. • Galfar Construction has always played an vital role in infrastructure development of UAE. • P Mohamed Ali has made significant contributions to the infrastructure development in Oman and India and is regarded as a caring patron of the large Indian expatriate community in the gulf region.

P MOHAMED ALI’S INSIGHT • P Mohamed Ali in a recent interview discussed about the infrastructure development plans of Galfar and UAE. • Below are the details from the P Mohamed Ali’s interview video : • Galfar is the largest construction company that has undertaken work in all the sector, starting from roads to port construction. • Galfar as a company provide a package from earth works till the commissioning of the project. • Galfar is building airports, sea ports and the most challenging road network from hasey to soyamiya road network. • Oman’s construction is very competitive and intense as government is planning big projects.

P MOHAMED ALI’S INSIGHT • Galfar construction contributes 20% of the total construction projects in the overall industry. • Galfar was established and grown in Oman and now it is expanding to other GCC and India. • India is the most focussed market for Galfar construction at this point as it has large potential. • P Mohamed Ali’s Galfar construction has already bagged 5 projects in India. • The materials price increases as the years pass by and it will keep on increasing.
