One of the benefits you may be eligible for is CHAMPVA, which is a health care program that helps pay for certain medical expenses that are not covered by private insurance or Medicare. You can apply for CHAMPVA online through the Veterans Administration website. To apply for CHAMPVA online, you will need to create an account on the Veterans Administration website. Once you have created an account, you will log in and click on the "Apply for Benefits" link. On the next page, you will select "CHAMPVA" from the list of benefits. You will then be taken to the CHAMPVA application, which you will need to complete and submit. If you are eligible for CHAMPVA, you will receive a CHAMPVA ID card, which you will need to present when you receive medical care. If you are a Veteran with a service-connected disability, you may be eligible for the Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Department of Veterans Affairs (CHAMPVA). CHAMPVA is a comprehensive healthcare program in which the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) shares the cost of certain healthcare services and supplies with eligible beneficiaries. To be eligible for CHAMPVA, you cannot be eligible for VA health care benefits. You must be the spouse or child of a Veteran who has been rated by the VA as having a service-connected disability or of a Veteran who died as a result of a service-connected disability. If you are eligible for both CHAMPVA and Medicare, you can receive benefits from both programs. However, you cannot receive duplicate benefits for the same service. For example, if Medicare pays for a hospital stay, you cannot also receive benefits from CHAMPVA for that same stay.
