Here's a tip for topping off your look: The simpler the gown, the more ornate the accessories can be. Likewise the more ornate the gown, the simpler the accessories. Hats, veils, fascinators, shoes, belts, gloves and bling all fall into the range of trimmings that can compliment your overall look. Preston and Olivia specialize in couture millinery though the paraphernalia found paired up with their fabulous head chic is inspiring and whimsical. I love the playing dress ups kind of feel that goes with this snazzy little jacket and pearls. . . . .

  1. A very happening 2012 trend is the illusion neckline. I for one love the look of sheer necklines and sleeves and am planning on adding a least five more of these pronovias cherto the collection over the next few months. Popularized in the 1950s this style allowed modesty as well as showing some skin, albeit opaque but sexy and demure. These days illusion is found in a few varieties of sheer fabric: tulle, power netting, organza and chiffon to name a few. Designers are using softer and stretchier fibers for the max in comfort . . . What's your spin on this? Would you like a sheer and almost naked look to your net top or more opaque like an ice skater would wear . . . .?

  2. How I love organzas, tulle, crinolines and organdy with a mix of laces thrown in for good measure. Put it all together and you have some really serious Oh La La! happening. I lucked out recently when I met up with Natalie, the model in this series who has studied ballet all her life. Put her in my pronovias chester(inspired by the 1950s, Dior, Giselle, La Sylphide, and Swan Lake) and she just seems to float even in still photographs . .

  3. The beauty of the 'Beatrix' pronovias chiaraabove is in the silhouette. A full circular skirt and layers of tulle give the dress its hourglass shape. Gardenias add a touch of romanticism and top off the ballerina look . . . .

  4. Above and Below: Feeling frou frou? The A-lined 'Gigi' pronovias columbaDress in an embroidered organza topped off with a tulle uber-pouf is the perfect froth for Oh La La! weddings. . .

  5. Above: The White Rose Fascinator is just the right head chic to mix up with satin, embroidery, tulle, crinoline and lace. What beautiful movement . . . .

  6. Below: A ballgown silhouette in embossed file is accented with and embroidered taffeta sash and silk dupioni headpiece . . . .

  7. Above: The look of a traditional bride in a bouffant gown paired up with a hand embroidered belt . . .

  9. Have I got a real treat for you today from Andre and Suzanne of Belle Momenti. This husband and wife photography team based in the UK specializes in destination weddings.

  10. Visiting Venice and shooting weddings there, both were left totally inspired by the storied and antiquated backdrop. In their own words: "Having fallen in love completely with this beautiful city, we wanted to recreate a Venetian-themed photo shoot back in the UK but were seeking the right venue. Through research, we concluded that there are not many bridal images along this theme and feel that the opulence and luxurious feel of ‘all-things-Venetian’ would be an interesting concept for potential brides. We have seen Parisian bridal themes used in a number of publications, however, not on Venice (a little surprising given it is one of the most romantic cities in the world)."

  11. The search for their location ended once they visited Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa – a magnificent neo-classical mansion house built in 1767, nestled in 1000 acres parkland (including a beautiful Italianate formal garden). From the exterior and grand entrance of the mansion through to the lavish Belle Epoque style interior, marble-walled dining room and curved, marble staircase surrounded Bergonzoli's statue ‘The Love of Angels’. " We knew instantly this was what we’d been looking for. Unsurprisingly, Luton Hoo has featured in numerous films, including ‘Never Say Never Again’, ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’, Eyes Wide Shut’, ‘The Secret Garden’, ‘Enigma’, ‘Bright Young Things’ and more recently ‘War Horse’. Television appearances include the BBC series ‘Little Dorrit’ and ‘Bleak House’. Hence, this was the perfect location for an opulent, Venetian-themed photo shoot."

  12. Today you'll find me over on the One Wed Blog talking all about Beijing Fashion Week. Starting March 27 designers sent their finest down the catwalks mixing up the Fall/Winter 2012-2013 uber chic in Land of the Silk. Since 1997 China is becoming a major fashion capitiol.
