  2. What Can We Do? • Join the Victorian Universal Housing Alliance • Get your Council to lodge a submission to the Regulatory Impact Statement • Continue to raise awareness at Council and Community levels • Demonstration Projects • Use Council Strategies and Plans

  3. What Can We Do? • Empower people with information • Use the media • Broaden the issue into the Aged, Safety and Health and Wellbeing and Environmental Sustainability sectors • Encourage people to make formal complaints (DDA, EO or Building Commission)

  4. What Happened at Latrobe City • 2004 – Latrobe City Community Plan • 2005 – DACV Accessible Place Accessible State • 2006 – Establish a local ABEWG • 2007 - Hosted Flinders University Focus Groups • 2007 – Held Accessible Housing Information Session

  5. What Happened at Latrobe City • 2007 – DAC input into Older Persons’ Strategy • 2008 – Policy Position on Universal Housing included in MSS • Involvement in Statewide BESWG • Involvement in VUHA • Successful Council Resolution
