State of readiness for additional funds : 2005-06 (Rs. in Lakhs) • Work programme for Kharif season is continuing in full swing. • Necessary tie-up arrangements for inputs for Rabi season has already been made. • Balance fund of Rs. 1050.00 Lakhs may be released during October – November, 2005.

  7. Progress in Seed production • Agriculture Deptt. started Breeder Seed production of paddy & pulses. • Thrust given for self – sufficiency in certified HYV Paddy seeds. Contd….

  8. Progress in certified HYV Paddy Seed production • Production has gone up to2126 MTin 2004-05 from 370 MT in 2000-01.

Progress in Balanced use of fertilizer & INM • Steps taken for strengthening of 2 Soil Testing Labs. • Micro nutrient analysis facilities shall be provided. • Strengthening of 4 mobile Soil Testing Vans. • One lakh farmers shall be given Soil health Card during 2005-06. • Officers/staff training on soil testing including micro-nutrients.

  14. Progress in IPM • Massive demonstration programme taken up for popularizing the concept. • 288 nos. Farmers’ Field School organized for awareness in Kharif & Rabi season. • 8 nos. bio-agents are produced in the state. • 2 nos. more bio-agents shall be produced in the Lab. • Farmers’ are coming forward with the IPM concept.

  15. Progress on APMC Amendment • Draft bill of State APMC Act 1980 being amended in accordance with GOI provisions. • Proposal is under consideration of the State Government.

  16. Readiness to implement ATMA • 2 districts identified for ATMA. • Notification for SAMETI & ATMA issued. • Nodal Officer & Project Directors declared. • Master Trainers’ Training & Core Team of SREP training with all line deptt. Officers organized. Contd…

  17. Readiness to implement ATMA • Preparation of SREP started in 5 AES. • SREP documents to be prepared by 30th Sept’05. • Rs. 11.00 Lakhs placed by GOI for SREP preparation & other works.

  18. Status of Quarantine facilities • Land available for construction of Phytosanitary Lab. • GOI may provide fund for construction of Lab. • Model Lab may also be advocated. • 2 rooms provided by State Govt. for opening of the Lab. Contd..

  19. Status of Quarantine facilities • Equipments other than computers not available in the State. • Concerned Ministry of GOI has been requested to provide list of manufacturers/suppliers. Reply awaited.

  20. Suggestions for improving Rabi Production • Supply of adequate quantity of certified Seeds. • Supply of other inputs on time. • Improved irrigation efficiency. • Gearing up of extension activities . • Encouraging farmers for use of agricultural implements. • Providing adequate credit. • Popularizing of IPM.
