The race has begun for the Central Corridor Project involving advanced utility construction along 4th Street in St. Paul. The due date for bids has been extended to July 15, 2009. The project entails relocating underground utilities, including electrical conduits and hot/chilled water lines across six blocks. DEVELOP YOUR STRENGHTS • The Work of this Project includes: relocating existing underground public utilities, Xcel Energy electrical conduits and St. Paul District Energy and District Cooling (DE/DC) hot and chilled water lines for a total of six blocks along 4th Street from 200 feet west of Minnesota Street to Broadway Street in St. Paul. Also included in this portion of the CCLRT Project are track and roadway sub-base, adjustments to areaways (below ground building spaces), underground communications, train signal conduits, light rail traction power conduits, pull boxes, above and below-grade traffic signal facilities, cantenary pole foundations, sidewalks, and roadway pavements. • The estimated construction cost is $20,000,000.00.
