Objectives • The learner will explore dialects through listening and discussing what they hear. • The learner will discuss why and how the author uses dialects to give authenticity to his characters. • The learner will participate in a discussion with their peers where they will respond thoughtfully to each other’s points.

  3. On your own Define the word dialect in your own words on the paper provided.

  5. On Your Own Add to your definition of dialect, something new after watching the video.

  6. As A Group When I say go, you will have 10 Minutes to share what you have so for as a definition for dialect. If you hear something said in your group discussion you like add it to your definition.

  9. As a Group Find the actual definition of a dialect and add that to your current definition of dialect.

  11. Here Is Your Challenge Tell me why it is important for us to learn about what a dialect is and how it will help us understand the story of Huckleberry Finn, as well as what might be problematic as we read. This will be completed in the online discussion.
