  2. Steps to access databases • Log onto the internet – Internet Explorer • Go to www.shoreregional.org • On the left hand side of the screen go to “Information Center” and click. • Then, click on On-Line Databases and E-Books • Username: shore • Password: Devil07

  3. Boolean searching… • Use words such as AND, OR and NOT to limit a search. • Use these Boolean operators to combine terms to broaden or narrow a search. • Many Internet searches will automatically use Boolean searches • EBSCOhost defaults to “Boolean/Phrase” searching.

WilsonWeb is currently converting all documents to full-text.

JSTOR • Defaults to advanced search in English • Can change language • JSTORs mission is to preserve a record of scholarship for posterity and to advance research and teaching. • JSTOR has archives that include scholarship published in over one thousand of the highest-quality academic journals across the humanities, social sciences and sciences.

  22. Project Muse • Defaults to a advanced article search • Can limit by journal, discipline, and language • Project MUSE offers full text articles in humanities and social sciences journals. • Project Muse is a collaboration between libraries and publishers.

  23. Remember… • Most databases give you an option to either • E-mail • Print • Save • If you decide to convert an article to a word document you can make comments/notes in the margin.
