Understanding Solid Matter: Physical Properties and Examples

Welcome to our lesson on solid matter! Today, we will explore the physical properties of various solid materials. Previously, we examined a copper coin, water, and air to understand their properties. Now, we'll focus solely on solid matter, discussing examples such as wood, plastic, glass, metal, and rubber. We’ll analyze their unique characteristics and how they compare to one another. By the end of this lesson, you'll have a deeper understanding of what defines solid matter and the diversity of its physical properties. Join us as we delve into this exciting topic!

  1. Science Station Solid Matter

  2. Solid Matter Welcome! Today we will begin looking more closely at solid matter and the physical properties of solid matter!

  3. Review • In our last lesson we looked at one solid, a copper coin, one liquid, water, and one gas, air, and investigated their physical properties. We found out that some matter has physical properties in common, while there are also a lot of differences. Today we will look only at solid matter and see if their properties are all the same or if their properties can be different.
