  2. Why Plant Churches? • THE BIBLICAL MANDATE • Jesus' essential call was to plant churches. • Many decisions are often only the beginning of a journey of seeking God. • Paul's whole strategy was to plant urban churches.

  3. Why Plant Churches? • THE BIBLICAL MANDATE • THE GREAT COMMISSION • New churches best reach new generations. • New churches best reach new residents. • New churches best reach new people groups. • New churches best reach the unchurched—period.

  4. Why Plant Churches? • THE BIBLICAL MANDATE • THE GREAT COMMISSION • RENEW THE WHOLE BODY OF CHRIST • Some of our most effective ideas have come from church plants. • New churches bring new ideas to the whole Body. • New churches challenge other churches to self-examination.

  5. 19  Those who had been scattered as a result of the persecution that started because of Stephen made their way as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the message to no one except Jews. 20  But there were some of them, Cypriot and Cyrenian men, who came to Antioch and began speaking to the Hellenists, proclaiming the good news about the Lord Jesus. 21  The Lord’s hand was with them, and a large number who believed turned to the Lord. Acts 11:19-21
