Midway Airfield, located approximately 1,250 miles from Honolulu, measures 1.8 miles long by 1.2 miles wide and has a rich history dating back to its U.S. Navy development in 1938 and the pivotal Battle of Midway in June 1942. In 1988, it became part of a National Wildlife Refuge aiming to restore biological diversity and conserve its resources. Currently, the airfield faces challenges including cracked asphalt, faded runway markings, and deteriorating taxiway pavements. New developments are underway to enhance airport infrastructure as part of the Vision 100 initiative.
