Procurement is important to Barking and Dagenham (B&D) because it has a direct impact upon spending, savings and on how we meet our service delivery objectives Procurement influences how we meet our corporate strategic objectives and plays a part in how we meet our regulatory obligations Barking And Dagenham Procurement

  4. Seek to remove obstacles and inhibitors to doing business with the Council In the delivery of larger contracts and framework agreements, the roles of small and medium sized, specialist suppliers will be considered. Our commitment to Local Businesses

  6. All contracts with a value of over £50,000 will be exposed to a formal competitive tendering process Suppliers may be invited more formally to submit Tenders for higher value, higher risk work. We may ask suppliers to provide quotes for low value work The procurement process

  8. Procurement Routes

  9. As a principle of procurement risk management, suppliers that tender for business must first be pre-qualified. There are two routes: For construction related procurements through Constructionline Successfully completing a B&D Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) Supplier Pre-Qualification

  10. The PQQ’s can be complex, especially when suppliers are quoting for lower value services and supplies. Supply London - work with small businesses providing practical assistance to enable you to become successful suppliers Supplier Pre-Qualification

  11. Why is e-procurement a priority for the Council? Improve value for money Reduce costs associated with the purchase to pay process Re-direct resources to improve services to the public e-Procurement
