The Globe District in Arizona is dedicated to ensuring safe and accessible transportation during snowstorms. The mission includes efficient road clearing and maximizing limited resources. The Mobile Resource Management (MRM) initiative aims to enhance snow operations through the deployment of real-time communication devices in plow trucks. This two-phase project plans to integrate 30 MRM units across the district to improve operational efficiency, address challenges such as legal compliance and public relations, and ultimately save costs in snow and ice control.

Challenges in Managing Snow Operations 1. Legal – Showing when & where we plowed and applied chemical. 2. Public Relations – Showing the public in real time, when & where we’ve plowed and applied chemical. 3. Reviewing our storm operation for improvements. 4. Maximum efficiency with our limited resources. 5. Storm scheduling issues – Crews, Plows, Routes, and Materials. 6. Operator safety – Many areas without radio coverage.
