  2. Proposed Work • Demonstrate distribution of primary care • Compare to current HPSA • Provide judgment and recommendation on relative merit of data sources • existing/potential secondary sources • Local/state collected • Consider ways to combine direct health & social deprivation approach to MUA

  3. Specific HPSA Analyses • Map/analyze primary care docs • GP, FP, IM (no subspec), Peds (no subspec) • Map/analyze non-doc primary care providers • NP, PA • Combine them • Show impact of adding these ‘hold’ groups • Doc Subspecialists: IM, Ped, OB/GYN >>>Overlay different definitions with HPSA<<<

  4. A Bit More Detail • Sensitivity Analyses for weights of non-doc • Sub-sub group will suggest weight • Best evidence, sensitivity? • Explore different cut points • Relative (ex. Quartile split) • Normative (literature driven answer) • Units of Geography to explore • County, PCSA, State-based service areas

  5. Toward an MUA • We will work on different approaches that join the direct measurement of health outcomes with a social deprivation-type approach • Attempt to provide some empirical information on what options look like compared to current IMU • Keep in mind notion of menu options

  6. Sub-Sub Groups • Workforce (Tess, Andrea, Ron, others) • Accessibility-distance, barriers (Alice, Alan, Barbara, Dan, Beth G., Sally, others) • Ability to pay (Tim, Bill, Jose or Roy) • Health Status/Socio-Economic Indicators (Bob, Steve, Alice, Marc, Don, Jose)
