  1. September 23, 2013 - Springboard 1.3 Word Map Homework:Make a word map for an unfamiliar word you come across in your DEAR book. Objective: Students will explore vocabulary using a word map Warm Up (in your composition book) Date your notes, write down the objective Grammar book pg. 49-51 In your notes, copy down the definitions for the following: verb helping (auxilary) verb verb phrase

  2. verb - a word that expresses action or a state of being helping (auxilary ) verb - helps a main verb express action or a state of being verb phrase - together, the main verb and its helping verb(s) make up a verb phrase

  3. Now complete # 1-6 in Exercise A on pg. 50-51. Write out each sentence. Underline the main verb once Underline the helping verb(s) twice.

The colors of the desert do not remain the same for long. 5. Specimens of petrified wood are exhibited at the tourist information center. 6. Have you ever seen a piece of petrified wood?
