  2. Procedures? RULES Vs. PROCEDURES What are procedures that take place in a business setting?

  3. Entering the Classroom • Walk in with a smile • Bring note taking materials • Open working journal • Begin working on Daily journal activity • Found on SmartBoard • Type date, journal topic, and response; insert ruled line

  4. Calendar/Agenda • Daily activities posted on the board or SmartBoard • Check your calendar • Always use your planner • NEVER ask “what are we doing today?”

  5. Briefing • After daily journal • Assignment instructions given • Take notes • Ask questions • Raise your hand quietly • Ask three before me

  6. Passes • Only ask if it is an emergency • Check with me before class starts • Carry your planner with you!

  7. Tardy • DO NOT BE LATE • Talk to the teacher prior to… • Walk in quietly • Do not interrupt the teacher • Apologize at the first opportunity • Follow school tardy policy

  8. Manners • Please • Thank you • May I • Excuse Me • Yes Ma’am / Sir • No Ma’am / Sir

  9. Grades • Combination of units • Assignments (15 to 25 points) • Tests (50 to 100 points) • Quizzes (5 to 15 points) • Quarterly Journal (10 points)

  10. Grade Checks • Leave on my desk as you enter the room • Returned towards the end of class • Do not interrupt the teacher

  11. Make-up Work • Only allowed for excused absences • Must be completed within the next scheduled S or C day that was missed • Follow school policy in planner

  12. Computer Usage • Don’t change any settings • Inform the teacher immediately if something is wrong • Internet is not used unless permission granted by teacher • Damage to computers: • Referral to administration • Iss or Oss • Referral to law enforcement • $2000 per computer

  13. Printing • Only print once • Chose – File, Print – on the menu bar or • Click the print icon on the standard toolbar • ALWAYS print to the HP 4100 black and white • I will retrieve the printed papers and return them after grading

  14. Visitors / Substitutes • Normal procedures enforced • Procedures not followed? • More work • Less pay

  15. Lab / Work Time • Quite • Respectful • Raise your hand to ask questions (three before me) • Stay in your seat

  16. Emergency Drills • Fire • Single file to practice field • West side by Woods • Check in with me ASAP • Tornado • In hall outside our door • Sit on floor, cover head w/hands

  17. End of Class • Clean workstations – last 5 minutes • Save & place disk back in folder • Pass folders down to the end of the row • Log off of the network • Teacher dismisses – not the bell
