  2. State Approved Tests for Accounting Secondary Level • College Level Accounting (Pilot) Assessment • College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) – Financial Accounting Examination • NOCTI Accounting (Basic) Assessment • NOCTI Accounting (Advanced) Assessment

NOCTI • NOCTI.org • NOCTI requires a Site Coordinator and a Monitor • It cannot be the instructor of the class taking the test • We had counselor and principal • All login codes and student scores get emailed to the Site Coordinator • MARSS person will need the student scores to input into report that is sent to the MDE

Preparing for the Test • When to give the test? • Evaluate Duties and BluePrints. • Pre-tests are available • Must be complete by November 30 • Time frame between administering the pre-test and post-test • Study Guides - cost • Come with online feature and booklet • My error or learning experience – • Both booklet and online have EXACT same questions • Questions never change • Just have students do the online feature • Booklet tells you to spend 1-2 months studying

Test Options • Two tests • Performance • Written – MDE required • 3 hour test • 1 sitting • 3 separate sittings • Once student logins, it takes them directly to section on • Students canNOT go back to previous sections • Test will tell students the total number of questions (148), not the section number of questions – anxiety levels went up

  6. Test Duties • Duties – areas covered in the test • Accounting Test includes 8 Duty areas • Test results are separated into the Duty areas for your site and by individual student – you get to see these!!!

  7. 8 Duty Areas for Accounting • Journalizing • Posting • Payroll Preparation • Banking and Banking Procedures • Merchandise Inventory • Completion of Accounting Cycle • Locating Source Data • Mechanical and Electronic Accounting Devices

  10. Results –By Student My students ranged from 43.2 – 89.9 with one (1) student falling below the state and national averages.
