  3. History After Effects was originally developed by the Company of Science and Art (Company of Science and Art) in Providence, Rhode Island, USA. Version 1.0 was released in January 1993. Version 2.1 of 1994 introduced PowerPC acceleration. Consequently thing and After Effects was then acquired by Aldus Corporation in July 1993, the company in turn was acquired by Adobe Systems Incorporated in 1994, and with it PageMaker and After Effects. The first version of Adobe After Effects was version 3.0.
