  2. Deciduous Means the leaves on the trees turn colors and fall off in the winter

  3. location On every continent except Africa and Antarctica North America - eastern and north- western Eurasia – central , east , and west Australia - east

  5. plants Layers but with thin canopy Sunlight can reach the forest floor for shrubs and bushes Also smaller plants grow under the shrubs

  6. ANIMALS Rabbits - white fur to keep them warm in winter Deer – antlers for safety, runs very fast ,fur for warmth

  7. ANIMALS Opossum – plays dead (like a dog) to stay safe, has opposable thums Chipmunk – bushy tail to keep warm, super claws to clime up anything

  9. Wineberry • The wineberrys leaves are star shaped • Grow about shoulder length • Have spikes so they dont get eaten

  10. Lady Fern • Likes shady areas • Elk and grizzly bears eat them • Can grow in dry soil • Can handle temperatures below freezing (32°f)
