Activities of Chinese Evaluation Group on TD-LTE-Advanced Evaluation and Open Area Rural Model

This report summarizes the recent activities of the Chinese Evaluation Group (ChEG), highlighting the evaluation of TD-LTE-Advanced performance and the development of the Open Area Rural Model. Key milestones include submissions to the ITU-R, collaborative workshops with TCOE India, and ongoing discussions regarding evaluation methodologies and antenna patterns. The group is committed to finalizing reports and assessment results that will be presented at the WP5D meetings in 2010. Contributions to forums for feedback and questions are also noted.

Recent works • Preliminary evaluation results of ChEG were submitted to 7# meeting of ITU-R WP5D • Studies on open area rural model, which is provided by TCOE India, are being developed • Questions from ChEG have been uploaded on CG Forum 3 • The fraction of LOS and NLOS; • Antenna pattern of fixed terminal; • Parameters of UE/BS on open area rural model. • Response from TCOE on these questions are uploaded on CG Forum 3 gradually. 2

Recent works • Face to face meetings and email discussion were performed to facilitate evaluation work among members • Evaluation work to develop final reports • further evaluation works on technical performance • assessment by analysis and inspection for service and spectrum characteristics • Work on Open Area Rural Model • Evaluate TD-LTE-Advanced RIT performance based on clarified model and assumption provided by TCOE India on Forum 3

  4. Coordination with other IEGs • Workshop with TCOE on April, 22nd , 2010 • A widely discussion on the new channel model. • Participate in the workshop of IEEE and the workshop of 3GPP held in Beijing. 3GPP Workshop 2010.5.18 #7 2010.2 #8 2010.6 2010.5.17 IEEE 802.16 Coordination Meeting Step 4: evaluation of candidate RITs and SRITs by evaluation group Step 5,6and7 4

  5. Plan for WP5D 8# meeting • Final evaluation report will be submitted to WP5D #8 on June,2010 • Evaluation results on Open Area Rural Model will be submitted
