YOGA HELPS KIDS TO: • Develop their body awareness • how to breathe better. • Learn how to use their bodies in a healthy way • Manage stress through breathing, awareness, meditation. • Build concentration • Increase their confidence and positive self-image • Feel part of a healthy, non-competitive group

  4. HOW TO QUIET THE MIND:When we practice yoga, we learn how to be still. This helps us to listen with attention and make good decisions.

  5. ABOUT BALANCE: • When we are practice yoga, we learn to be more aware about the need for balance in our lives. • This could mean equal stretching on the left and right sides of our bodies or making sure we balance our very busy time with equal quiet time and relaxation

  6. Poses and games focused on balancing skills, develop an intrinsic strength, evoke a meditative feeling, and promote stillness and quieting of the mind. 

  7. MEDITATION AND RELAXATION Giving younger kids something to do as they rest on their mats will help with their attention, such as suggesting they think of a favorite color or toy. Older kids will find it easier to rest longer with less structure.
