  1. The AT&T Early Educators Project A West Tallahatchie High School UPDATE

  2. Year One… There were two main issues to be worked out before implementing the program: getting the wifi connected AND… getting the children to come

  3. Well, we got both!!! We served students in grades 3 and 4 in our after-school tutoring program. They were a great bunch and seemed to have enjoyed the tutoring they received from their tutors. Although they really liked their tutors, they were more excited about the opportunity to engage in learning with the IPod Touches that were received through a generous grant from AT&T.

  4. The goal remains the same in YEAR 2 with the focus still on reading, language arts, and mathematics. Our target students are 7th and 8th graders who did not score proficient on the spring assessment of the MCT II, although we hope that all students in these grades will have an opportunity to share in this learning experience. The tutors, once again, will be seniors, but we will utilize more of them this year. (Hey, this just may be a required service project for them!)

  5. So, here are a few of the snapshots taken on the first day with the IPods with a few of our “PODIGIES” and tutors. (Oh, did I mention that we were also given an additional set of equipment?) Mr. Tony Young, a high school math teacher, was selected to come aboard to assist.
