Desktop PublishingDescription of class… Desktop Publishing offers students the opportunity to use keyboarding and word processing skills in the production of attractive documents such as flyers, letterheads, business cards, report covers, and newsletters. Graphic design and page layout techniques are emphasized. Students will produce attractive documents that effectively use and display proper desktop publishing strategies.

A to Z People, Places, or Things in Mississippi • Students will use the internet, online magazines, newspapers, etc. to compile a presentation, poster or booklet of common and interesting people, places, or things in Mississippi. • Include a title slide with the name of the project A-Z Mississippi, your name, a picture, your block, etc. • For the letter of your first name include a slide about yourself!!! • Write or type a 4 – 5 sentence paragraph for each person, place, or thing chosen. You will also add callouts and a text box to the flyer. • There are no spelling or grammar errors. • The fonts are used consistently. • The callouts are readable and pointing to the correct location. • The logo is complete and accurate. • The graphics used in the border are consistently spaced. • The line and the triangle used for the missing slice effectively hide the graphics behind. • The text box at the bottom has no fill color and no line color. • The background color covers the entire flyer.

Use the Internet to find at least 5 holidays/happenings in that month.
