  25. President during WWI who promised Americans a “New Freedom”- taming big businesses, encouraging greater competition and eliminating special privileges for the wealthy.

  29. 18th Amendment • Prohibited the manufacture, transportation, or sale of alcoholic beverages. • Prohibition (1920-1933)

  31. Legislation by President Wilson that established 40 existing parks and monument under federal protection. Conserving the natural scenery and historic objects and wildlife for the American people.

  33. After WWI this established that no state could deny a citizen the right to vote on the basis of sex.

  35. This law stop monopolies engaging in unfair practices that prevented fair competition. It marked a change in attitude of Congress toward the abuses of big business.
