  2. July 25th, 2011first day of summer bridgecomputer networking and printing technologies

    Today was my first day of my summer bridge. The first part of my day was in the printing technologies lab. There I use a Mac book computer to create a business card on adobe InDesign. Also I got a tour of the lab, in which we learned about and how to use the different tools used in the lab, like the different types of printers and folders, the silk screen design, and the cutter. In the second part of the day I learned how to make a straight-through internet cable and I learned how packet travel through the network.
  3. The order of the straight-through cable. Today in the printing technologies lab, I continued to work on my business cards. I was able to finish my business card design but when I tried to print my work it didn’t process because the picture I imported and incorporated had too high of resolution for the printer to handle in large quantities.   4. July 27th, 2011 Third day of summer bridge: ARINC Today was the third day of the my computer networking and printing technologies summer bridge and today was field trip day. The field trip was to ARINC where we learned about the printing technologies and networking of ARINC. From the printing technologies presentation I learned about how using different types of paper and varnish can be used to create a wide variety of effects and designs. In the networking presentation I learned how the networking system of ARINC works. Also on the field trip we went on a tour of the facilities, where we got to see where all the new programs and technologies are tested before they are sent out into the world to be sold and used.
  5. July 28th, 2011Fourth day of summer bridge Computer Networking Printing technologies Today, I used the Cisco Packet Tracer to simulate the building of a Switch-based Network. The objectives of this simulation were create a simple network with two PCs using a switch, identify the proper cable to connect the PCs to the switch, configure workstation IP address information, and test the connectivity using the ping command. In printing technologies, I made a spiral notebook using InDesign. On the notebook, I create a hand drawn picture that was white on a black background with my initials in white. I also made four sheets of stickers. The stickers have many picture from the internet that were adjusted to fit the template of the stickers.
