The Branching Out Programme, led by Kirsty Cathrine of Forestry Commission Scotland, is dedicated to exploring the mental health benefits of greenspace. It aims to forge partnerships between environmental and health sectors, creating structured 12-week programs that promote physical activity, teamwork, and social skills. Activities include bushcraft, conservation, and environmental art. The program has seen significant increases in physical activity among participants. Over the years, it has expanded and evolved with ongoing evaluations to ensure effectiveness. For more, visit www.forestry.gov.uk/branchingout.
