  1. Fouls & PenaltiesRule 10 TECHNICAL FOULS ON TEAM • Failure to supply scores with required data • Changing starters • Adding to squad list • Use of TV monitoring/replay (game or intermission) • Failure to occupy assigned bench • Delaying the game • Having more and/or less than 5 members participating simultaneously • Request an excess time out • Commit an unsporting foul • Failure to have all players return to the court at the same time following a time-out/intermission • Following a team warning – commit a violation of any delay of game violations.

TECHNICAL FOULSON PLAYER • Participate after changing number without reporting • Participate after being disqualified • Wear an illegal number or an illegal shirt or pants • Leave the court for an unauthorized reason. • Who purposely and/or deceitfully delays returning to the court after legally being out of bounds??? • Grasp the basket during jurisdiction • Dunking or attempting to dunk during warm ups/intermission • Place a hand on the backboard or ring to gain advantage • Slapping or striking the backboard or vibrating the ring (THIS MUST BE AN INTENTIONAL ACT) • Delay the game

TECHNICAL FOULSON PLAYER • Free thrower fails to enter semi-circle (Unless Resuming Play) • Purposely obstructing the vision of an opponent who is not in control of the ball • Knowingly attempting a free throw as wrong shooter • Using unsportsmanlike tactics • Intentionally or flagrantly contacting an opponent when the ball is dead (such contact is not a personal foul) • Charged with fighting • Goaltending at the opponents basket during a free throw • Reach through the boundary line and touch or dislodge the ball during a throw in

  4. TECHNICAL FOULSON SUBSTITUTE • Failure to report to scorers table • Entering the court without being beckoned by an official (except between quarters)

TECHNICAL FOULS ON BENCH PERSONNEL • Disrespectfully address an official • Attempting to influence an official’s decision • Using profane or inappropriate language or obscene gestures • Disrespectfully addressing, baiting/taunting an opponent • Objecting to an official’s decision by rising from the bench using gestures • Inciting undesirable crowd reactions • Entering the court to attend an injured player, unless by permission of an official • Not remaining seated on the bench • Charged with fighting

DIRECT TECHNICAL FOULS ON COACHES • Failure to replace a disqualified or injured player within 20 sec., with warning horn at 15 sec. • Violating the bench conduct rule • Violating the coaching box rule • Player participating after being disqualified !!! • Illegal jersey/pants/number • A maximum of one technical foul shall be charged directly to the head coach when a participant wears an illegal jersey, pants or illegal number

  7. DISCUSSION ISSUES • What constitutes a personal foul? 4:19:1(Live Ball) • What constitutes illegal contact caused by the dribbler? • What constitutes illegal contact by the screener? • Visual & blind screens • Screening stationary & moving opponents
