Multi-year grant funding • What are the benefits? • Extend end date of FY13 grant to 6/30/14 • More flexibility, fewer separate grants, no “carryover” grant -> less bureaucracy • What is required? • Project spending through 6/30/13 and submit multi-year grant funding delegation form by 5/3/13 Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education

Title I data collection • Required for all Title I districts • “Title I Data” application in ESE security portal • Reduced number & complexity of questions • Available now; due by August 31 • Details in 5/13/13 memo emailed to all Title I directors Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education

  8. FY14 Title I grant allocations • Preliminary statewide allocation: $203.7M (-3.3%) • Timeline unchanged: expect final state allocations in early June & district allocations near end of June Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education

FY14 application overview • Rules & requirements – unchanged • Basic structure – unchanged • Title I narrative section • Reduced number of questions from 10 to 7 • For Level 2-5 districts, new questions about: • FY13 required reservation spending • Observed and anticipated evidence of impact for supports & interventions for low-achieving students in low-performing schools • See pages 95-100 in booklet Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
