  2. Warm up • Do Vietnamese people often use their first name or last name when addressing someone both formally and informally? • Are American parents allowed to beat their children? Why?

  3. Before • Have you ever seen foreigners? • How do foreigners differ from us? (about appearance, clothes, complexion, gesture,…) • In your opinion, why are they different from us?

  4. While Read the text on page 23 and 24 about some useful principles of diversified cultures. Then answer the following question: Are the customs of different countries in the world the same? Give some examples.

  5. Post Work in pairs. Discuss these questions. • How do young people in Vietnam address elderly people or their superiors to show politeness? • When do you keep good eye contact with someone?
