Spark: Web 2.0 Tools for Communication and Collaboration What tools are available? • Wikis • What is it? • A website that allows the easy creation and editing of any number of interlinked web pages. • What is it used for? • Collaborative creation of content (e.g. grant proposals, research papers, group assignments) • Quick and easy web publishing. • Document repository
Spark: Web 2.0 Tools for Communication and Collaboration What tools are available? • Blogs (WordPress) • What is it? • A type of website, usually maintained with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other materials such as graphics or video. • What is it used for? • Developing and publishing publicly accessible websites. (e.g. department web sites, project blogs etc.) • Providing students with a platform for writing and sharing writing assignments.

In a web conference, each participant sits at his or her own computer and is connected to other participants via the internet. • What is it used for? • Connecting students and staff across campuses. • Providing or receiving in-class presentations to/from distant colleagues.
