  2. Where do you most often use the reading recall skill in your life?

  3. You use reading recall in school! • Science: vocabulary, steps, components • English stories: settings, characters • Social studies: people, places, dates • Health: organs, drugs, diseases • Gym (study guides): plays, equipment

  4. Good news about recall and detail questions: • It is the easiest reading skill to learn. • It is signaled by certain words - Who, what, when, where, etc. • Answers can be found DIRECTLY in the text -Can highlight, underline, or circle answer

  5. Bad news about recall and detail questions: • Answers require attention to detail • May have to give multiple answers in order to have a fully complete response. Example: What are the four steps?

  6. Directions assignment: • How do you feel after the assignment? • Was the assignment “tricky”? • Why did some people “get” the assignment?

  7. What is the purpose of recall and detail questions? • To gain knowledge, information, or skills
