  2. Inter-relationships in an Ecosystem • An ecosystem is the interaction between the habitat and the community • You must know the meaning of HABITAT and COMMUNITY be able to give at least one example of each

  3. You must know the meaning of the terms: PRODUCERS CONSUMERS HERBIVORES CARNIVORES OMNIVORES DECOMPOSERS And give an example of each

  4. You must be able to draw simple FOOD CHAINS and FOOD WEBS from examples given. • The food chain ALWAYS starts with a green plant which gets its energy from the sun. • The sun is therefore the SOURCE of the energy • The arrows mean ENERGY FLOW and must always point in the correct direction (think about it going into the mouth of the next organism)

  5. Make up a food chain using these organisms • FOX • GRASS • RABBIT • Remember to put the arrows facing the right way

  6. Use these organisms to make up a food web • Rabbit • Fox • Blackbird • Dandelion • Grass • Slug • Greenfly
