WHAT IS THE IACUC? The IACUC (Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee is the institutional review board that oversees research involving the use of animals. IACUC is charged with the duty to protect animals used in research, ensure proper care, and oversee animal research facilities. IACUC reviews all research protocols where animals are considered for use.
SPECIAL NOTE! NO HUMAN SUBJECTS RESEARCH, ANIMAL RESEARCH, OR RESEARCH INVOLVING BIOAGENTS AND RADIATION CAN BEGIN UNTIL IT HAS RECEIVED APPROVAL BY AN INSTITUTIONAL REVIEW COMMITTEE.

WHAT IS THE IBC? The IBC (Institutional Biosafety Committee) is the institutional review board charged with overseeing research involving biohazards, biological agents, radiation, human tissue, DNA, and other entities that may pose a risk to the welfare of the institution.
