Mrs. Driskell’s Class News News for the week of: February 24 • Math- • *Calendar Skills – date, days of the week, months of the year, AAB pattern, ones and tens place value, penny, nickel and dime, time to the hour and half hour • *Addition and Subtraction Relationships • Language Arts: • Long a – ai and ay • Comprehension Skill: • Draw conclusions • background knowledge • Spelling Words: • train way tail play • day may rain gray • mail afraid • about would Amazing Words: celebrate grateful rarest delicate genuine loot Sight Words: about enjoy give surprise worry would Homework – I will send home some reading passages Monday. After your child reads each passage discuss the characters in the passage, author’s purpose and setting. You can also help your child pick out the nous and verbs in the passages. Make sure you look at the Remind 101 paper that is attached. I am going to try this as a method of communicating with you guys when we get out of school early due to weather concerns.

  2. Snacks—your child can bring their own snack every day and their own spill proof water bottle each day. Please do not send juice for snacks. • ALL visitors must sign in at the front office. • Students are tardy at 7:45 • TRANSPORTATION CHANGES--Don’t forget to send a note if your child’s mode of transportation changes. Do not send a change in transportation via e-mail. • ABSENCES--Remember to send a written note within 3 days if your child is absent. • SEND IN BOX TOPS AND LABELS to help our school!!! • *** Please try to have students here on time. If they are car riders it takes them a little time to walk to my room.
