  2. Recurrent decay under Mercury Amalgam filling Broken cusp – indicates Porcelain onlay restoration

  3. Fracture is below the gingival level

  4. Diode laser used for gingivoplasty

  5. Filled in the missing cusp with light cured block out material: Ultradent

  6. Temporary matrix button softened with heat. Either a butane flame or hot water may be used.

  7. Crown matrix – Advantage Dental 800-388-6319 Turns clear and soft when heated

  8. roll the softened matrix into a ball with wet glove. Adapt it over the tooth starting on lingual and slowly Adapt over the occlusal and on to buccal

  9. Cooling it with air water spray hardens the matrix. Paint the underside with Tempglaze or similar glaze

  10. Mark the Buccal with an X or tooth number using Sharpie marker pen to help orient it later

  11. Finished preparation for porcelain onlay

  12. EZ Temp from Cosmodent

  13. EZ Temp used to block out undercut areas only

  14. Light cure EZ Temp

  15. Note the X on the buccal Fill the matrix form with Integrity and also flow some of it directly into the prep to cover the prep

  16. Remove the form 3 minutes from the moment Integrity dispensing started

  17. Minimal flash to clean up

  18. Temporary restoration is coronoplastied and Margins cleaned up. Any void may be filled in with flowable composite resin.

  19. Temporary restoration 2 – 3 weeks later

  20. Temporary restoration 2 – 3 weeks later

  21. Onlay restoration on model

  22. Final restoration delivered. No open contacts.
